Introducing a new blog series called "The Max Oz Skate Experience"! Push along with TeamAERIAL skater Max Barker as he takes us to some of his favorite spots and on a few new ones.
Series Premiere - Flodin Skatepark
Words of Max - Man I miss the summer. During the summer, I skate just about every day of the week. Bryan Nambo drove Nakita Payne and I to Flodin Skatepark in Rockford, IL, to get some clips for a Curbsharks park edit. As we arrived at Flodin I could see the heat radiating off of the ramps. I knew it was going to be a good day!
Flodin is unique because of its big quarters, the flybox to wallride, and the vert. My goal when we pulled up was to get a couple clips. I was happy to get the 5-0, but I was super stoked on the wallie. Nambo pushed me to do this trick, and gave me tips to help me stomp it. It took me a little while, but eventually I landed and rolled away. The two footplants always make Nambo and Nak smile. Flodin is separated by street and transition, and the footplants made some good use of the neglected transition at the park.
